PRLog - Sep. 8, 2011 - BELLINGHAM, Wash. -- Bellingham, WA - The International Au Pair Exchange (TIAPE) has recently appointed Julie Scherer as its new Director. Scherer will be leading the company in its mission to create life-enriching opportunities by combining cultural exchange with quality, flexible, and affordable childcare.
Scherer joins TIAPE with 15 years of experience in the au pair industry. She has spent a large portion of this time providing support to over 1000 families and au pairs in the Greater Seattle area. She also has experience in other cross cultural exchange programs including, leading tours in Italy, Spain, Portugal and France, hosting language immersion programs for visitors from Korea and serving on an international service team to Romania. With a business background from the University of Washington’s School of Business Administration and her extensive experience, Scherer brings the knowledge and experience required to succeed in this industry.
Jason Ankeny, Co-Founder of the company, said, “Julie Scherer is the leader we needed in the Director’s seat. She brings the marketing and business experience we need to make this program a successful venture. More importantly, Julie shares our vision for the au pair program. I am confident that she, along with our phenomenal staff, will make this program a success.”
Julie Scherer commented, “The au pair program is an invaluable life experience for young adults. I would love to create opportunities for these young adults to learn a new culture and enhance their English language skills. I also know how expensive quality childcare has become in the United States. According to a recent report I read, it is more expensive to put your children in childcare than to put them through a four-year public college. My aim at TIAPE is to reach out to families and educate them about the affordable au pair way of childcare.”
