On Boomer Nation's Sunday Broadcast: Miracle on 9/11

Sept. 8, 2011 - PRLog -- Boomer Nation! broadcast radio show will air a special tribute on the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks, this Sunday, September 11, 2011.  

Guests will include Susy Flory, co author of  "Thunder Dog: The True Story of a Blind Man, His Guide Dog & the Triumph of Trust at Ground Zero," and Colonel David P. Pavey, Commander of the 927Air Refueling Wing out of MacDill AF Base, Central Command for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

"This will be a very different show for us," noted Terri Benincasa, the show's host and a nationally recognized Boomer Expert.  "Given the solemnity of the day, we've written out our comedy and trivia segments, and replaced them with an inspiring story of a miraculous escape from the North Tower, an economist's assessment of the impact 9/11 has had over the past 10 years on our nation's financial state, and, of course, insights from a man who has experienced many tours in Afghanistan and Iraq."

Ms. Benincasa also plans to put out a 'call to action' for her fellow Baby Boomers, in her weekly "Boomer Alert!" pressing listeners to start another movement for social change like the ones for which her generation is so famous.  

“Remember how well we treated each other during the months immediately after the attacks?  Well, just like we did 10 years ago, we as a nation need that kind of civility again if we want to recover from our current crisis, and Boomers can make that happen” the host explained.

The show will air Sunday from 5-6pm EST, on AM stations WGUL and WLSS in West Central Florida, and nationally on the WGUL website: 860wgul.com.  After it airs, a podcast of the show will be available on the Boomer Nation! website: boomerradioshow.com .
