Partners Erica Harper and Rob Danesh began their new business one year ago in September of 2010, after having had successful careers working for decades at major, global employee benefits consulting firms. The one-year anniversary of the organization has been preceded by a year of rapid growth, as Harper Danesh has quickly made a name for itself in the actuarial community. Because of their success, as well as their commitment to serving their expanding client base, they made the decision to purchase the building located at 399 Alexander Street in mid-August of this year.
Harper Danesh began as tenants in the two-story, 3,000 sq. ft. converted carriage house that was built in 1907 and later renovated to accommodate commercial offices in the mid 80’s. Rob Danesh stated, “Although the property is situated on Alexander Street near East Avenue, one of the most lively corners of downtown’s East End District, the building is secluded enough to provide the perfect setting for our offices.” Erica Harper adds, “Much of the charm of the original carriage house has been preserved—bead board walls, wood-beamed ceilings, a loft office and a private stoned garden area.” The one-of-a-kind building also has space for additional local businesses, and prospective tenants are currently being considered.

future success but also our commitment to Rochester and the clients we serve here.” These clients include several not-for-profit organizations such as the Mary Cariola Children’s Center and Seniorsfirst Communities & Services.
Partner Rob Danesh states, “While the trend over the last decade has been for businesses to move out of the city, Rochester is beginning to experience a renaissance of sorts and we want to be part of it. The investment in our business and in this building is one way we can contribute to the growth of this city and the organizations we serve.” Danesh adds, “Rochester is a wonderful place to live and work, and we’re here to stay.”
Harper Danesh plans on celebrating with a private anniversary party in their new building in early October.
