Sept. 8, 2011 - PRLog -- BRANCHBURG, N.J. - SaaShr.com (www.SaaShr.com), a leading provider of Software as a Service (SaaS) based Workforce Management Solutions with a major focus in Human Resources (HR), Payroll, and Time and Labor Management, has successfully completed its SSAE 16 Type 2 Assessment.

Performed in accordance with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements 16 (SSAE 16), SaaShr.com’s assessment was completed by BrightLine CPAs & Associates, Inc., previously known as SAS 70 Solutions. BrightLine is a licensed Certified Public Accounting firm registered with the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board. Outside of the “Big 4” accounting firms, BrightLine is the largest provider of assessment services in the world.

In June 2011, SSAE 16 superseded the SAS 70 auditing standard for service organizations with customers primarily based in the United States. As defined by BrightLine, “SSAE 16 is an attestation standard that establishes the requirements and guidance for reporting on controls at a service organization relevant to user entities’ internal control over financial reporting.”

Unlike SAS 70, SSAE 16 requires a description of the system and a written assertion by management. According to BrightLine, management must provide a “description of the service organization’s system, the suitability of the design of the controls, and the effectiveness of the controls” which is then tested by the auditors for effectiveness and accuracy.

By engaging BrightLine to assess SaaShr.com’s controls, the organization can respond to meet the needs of its user entities and obtain an objective evaluation of the effectiveness of controls that address operations and compliance.
