Eco Chicago Limo Service Celebrates Anniversary with Tree Planting

In honor of successfully Going Green for two years now, the company will be planting a tree for every ride they give during the month of September.

Going Green Limousine is very excited to be celebrating two years of eco car service in Chicago. The use of hybrids in the limo industry reduces emissions by as much as 80%. Said owner, Rebecca Schmuck, “There are approximately 10,000 plates issued to limos and taxis in the city of Chicago, not including all of the limos and taxis in surrounding suburbs of Chicago. When you consider the amount of time these cars spend idling in front of people’s houses, in the limo lot at the airports, and just driving in city traffic, that accounts for a lot of emissions. Simply by using hybrids, we can reduce up to 80% of that.”

Thy hybrid sedans and hybrid SUVs that Going Green Limousine uses for its private car service accommodate up to four passengers. For larger capacity vehicles it uses Flex-Fuel SUVs that can seat up to seven passengers. Rentals in stretch limos are offset with donations made to various local environmental causes.

Although Going Green Limousine makes donations to various organizations throughout the year, additionally this year they want to celebrate their eco anniversary by planting a tree for every ride they give during their anniversary month of September. Jess Sapp of Going Green Limousine says that a typical sedan used by a Chicago limo company averages at least 50,000 miles per year. “That is why it is so important to reduce emissions in our industry,” Sapp says.
