Leading US Manufacturing Efficiency Expert Facilitates ’Path to Lean IT’ Roadshow

The Association for Manufacturing Excellence will run a series of Lean IT workshops in Australia and New Zealand this month; ‘The Path to Lean IT’ workshops offer new insights into how companies can develop people, improve processes and automate.

Sept. 8, 2011 - PRLog -- The Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME) Australia will be supporting Shingo Prize adjunct professor Mike Orzen by facilitating a series of Lean IT workshops in most cities within Australia and New Zealand during September 12-30. ‘The Path to Lean IT’ workshop roadshow will offer business leaders new insights into how companies can develop their people, improve business processes daily and thoughtfully apply technology to automate improved manual processes.

Mr Orzen described the benefits of attending, “The Lean IT Workshop is leading to breakthrough results in IT operational performance for both global and local companies. Attendees will learn to skilfully blend the core principles of Operational Excellence and Lean into practical solutions one can apply immediately upon returning to work!”

Each workshop will present the next level of thinking in leveraging IT, illustrating how to drive new behaviours, skills and innovation within IT organisations to adapt, improve, and keep the organisation moving forward. Lessons learned will support IT staff to become key enablers of process improvement within IT Operations and the organisation as a whole.

AME Australia National President Peter Campbell encouraged “... all IT professionals and their customers to attend Mike’s roadshow sessions to gain an understanding of how to improve business process cheaply and quickly within existing IT constraints and in doing so, understand how to specify the next iteration of IT investment for maximum impact.”

The workshop roadshow will start in Brisbane on September 12 and will be held in Sydney (14th), Melbourne (19th), Adelaide (23rd) and Perth on the 26th of September; the workshop will also be held in Auckland, New Zealand on September 30 as part of the launch of the AME New Zealand chapter.

Global professional services company KPMG will sponsor and host all workshops at KPMG centres around Australia and New Zealand. The Path to Lean IT workshops are open to both AME members and non-members with limited numbers available for each venue; for more information and to register, visit the AME website at: www.ame.org.au

About the Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME) Australia:
The AME (Australia) was formed in 1999, dedicated to the cultivation, analysis and exchange of productivity methods, and their successful application in the pursuit of excellence. The AME (Australia) is an affiliate of the AME (North America), which was developed to improve the knowledge of manufacturing excellence and to share experiences with other members, both through informal networking and more formal local and international events and conferences. Today, the AME (Australia) is not only important locally but also internationally, a fact demonstrated by its hosting of the first International AME Conference to be held outside North America in Melbourne in May 2004, only five years after the idea for an Australian branch was first floated. The Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME) Australia is headquartered in North Melbourne, VIC; a new chapter of the AME is also currently being formed in New Zealand.
