Sept. 8, 2011 - PRLog -- The screen is impressive, although moving from 4.3" to 5" does not sound like much it is really amazing how much more map and particulars that fits well on the screen. The screen itself is anti-glare that works, and very shiny if you want Garmin Nuvi 1490lmt best price, I have the brightness at 60% and that is amazing even in bright sun light. The images are very crisp and clear, path names and such are auto-sized to not prevent the map but huge adequate to read simply. The size when it is examining out route is also fantastic, so loud I have it also on 60%. So a sturdy 5 Stars on the screen and speech volume, as well as the diction of the street names!

The upgrade method is very effortless but long, likely very long on a slower PC and/or slow internet connection, the map data is enormous. When I was aproaching it the Garmin Nuvi 1490lmt switched to junction view and wow, it had a certainly designated path by the maze, and nailed each street on the money, and the optimum street for the next move if there was more than one street major into it. Very awesome! Another 5 star feature, this would have made my first time through that a shed better than the old garmin nuvi with just a yellow series through it.

The tracks it comes up with are 4.5 star, it hits most very very properly but will toss a few more unusual ones out than my previous Garmin Nuvi did, they all do some, I consider this could do a lot better, the good news is these are not unpleasant routes, just not the improved or top always.

Other nice attribute is the speed limit that results in a little speed limit sign icon by your precise speed, if you are going over the limit for the route, the actual speed turns red in the screen. (I will not say how I know but it is a relaible reference!) 5 Star, speed limit indicators on a lot of our local town streets is a problem.

I was also impressed that I could pick maximum map detail and it keeps up even in the city, during fast turns in very high street density it will occaisionally repaint the screen instead of smooth scrolling with your motion but it does it so fast, unlike my prior Garmin Nuvi, they it is not distracting or leave you hanging with a partial map. This is five star all the way.

Overall, I have to say I am very happy with the Garmin nuvi 1490lmt, I could not give it a full 5 for the things it fell just a little short on to me, but if I was to make the decision on a model again with what I know, I would buy it again, I think it would be hard to beat Garmin 1490lmt Best Price Portable GPS Navigator with life time Map Updates and Traffic.
