Local business consultant, The Summers Group, to judge national entrepreneurship competition

Sept. 7, 2011 - PRLog -- The Summers Group (TSG) is a business development consultancy established in 2005.  Headed by James Summers, TSG provides workshops and training for entrepreneurs helping them launch develop and grow their small businesses.  Because of the work they are currently doing with the Illinois Institute of Technology, The Summers Group was asked to judge the competition.

The Chicago Innovation Chase® is an Inter Collegiate Entrepreneurship and Innovation program designed to spotlight and mentor student talent to create the next generation of inventors, problem-solvers and entrepreneurs. Originally conceived in 2008 by students at the Illinois Institute of Technology, the extreme success of the program has caused it to grow into a national project with participating universities in five states.

The Chase incorporates youth, industry experts, college students, faculty and local businesses in a well-rounded and unique competitive experience.  It consists of a 9-month partnership with participating universities from around the country which includes an annual national inter-collegiate student competition, with a regional semi-finals competition taking place at each participating campus.

For the year 2011, the Chicago Innovation Chase® competition is hosted by the Illinois Institute of Technology and has participating campuses in Georgia, Michigan, Missouri and Pennsylvania.
