Sept. 7, 2011 - PRLog -- Dr. Jen Faber of Kinetic Health Alternatives will be speaking alongside Laurent Amazallag, the former trainer for Oprah Winfrey’s Live Your Best Life Tour at Saks Fifth Avenues’ “Fashion’s Night Out in Good Taste and Health” event.

The event takes place on Thursday, September 8 from 4 PM to 7 PM at Saks Fifth Avenue in Tyson’s Galleria, McLean, VA.  Dr. Jen Faber will speak at 5:15pm on the first floor. The event is in collaboration with DC Magazine, the March of Dimes, the Office of Minority Health, and A Healthy Baby Begins with You celebrity spokeswoman Tonya Lewis Lee to celebrate the beauty of healthy living.

Dr. Jen Faber (Dr. Jen) is the president of Kinetic Health Alternatives, a mobile health service that brings doctors to patients to treat and prevent aches, pains, and stresses that affect work and life. She has worked with Lady Gaga’s dancers, the Washington Ballet, and National Geographic. Her presentation will focus on “Myth-busting Pain,” which debunks ridiculous myths and gives real-life tips on how to live without pain, and feel better at work and home every day. “Unfortunately, people have developed the bad habit of believing they have to live with chronic aches and pains. They think its part of their life so they just deal with it. I love showing people how they can achieve a new normal, which is pain-free healthy living,” says Faber.

Beyond treating the symptoms or curing the source of pain, Dr. Jen also educates patients on improving their overall health and how to maintain a better life. In her remarks, Dr. Jen will address how individuals can take control of their own health and wellness, and the positive impact it has. Corporations are also beginning to see the effect that wellness has on their organization. According to the American Pain Foundation, work-related pain causes an average of 50 million lost workdays each year, costing employers an estimated $100 billion annually. “We know a team is only as good as its team members. That’s why we focus on treating the individual to create a strong organization. We need to focus on individual employee wellness rather than corporate wellness,” says Faber.

The evening will also include shopping, mini-makeovers, food sampling, cooking demonstrations, and other presentations. The event with Dr. Faber also includes Tonya Lewis Lee, author, producer, and wife of filmmaker Spike Lee, and the spokesperson for A Healthy Baby Begins with You; former Top Chef contestants; Tamesha Warren of The Oval Room; Timothy Dean of Prime Steak House and T.D. Burger, LLC; vegan chef, Levita Mondie. The event is free and open to the public and the media.
