The kiln heats from the top and sidewalls. The firebrick lid is 3” thick and includes two counter-balance springs. Included with the kiln are two 18” tall stands.
The Ovation-1013 can be ordered with optional glass windows, which replace the standard peepholes in the front of the kiln. The windows are rated to 2300 degrees F and allow the artist to view the glass as it fires. The Ovation-1013 can also be ordered with an optional mercury relay. Mechanical relays are standard.
The Sentry 2.0 digital temperature controller can store nine programs in memory. It can also give the cost of electricity used to fire each load of glass.
Paragon kilns are made in Mesquite, Texas USA. “About one in four employees have been with us for over 10 years,” said John S. Hohenshelt, president of Paragon. “Many employees have been here 20 years.”
