Ribbon Cutting Scheduled for New Horizon Chiropractic and Wellness

Sept. 6, 2011 - PRLog -- PORTSMOUTH, Rhode Island – An official ribbon cutting is scheduled for Thursday, September 8th at noon to herald the grand opening of New Horizon Chiropractic and Wellness at 934 East Main Road in Portsmouth at Benjamin Fish Common near The Green Grocer.

“We are delighted to have Misty join our other tenants in Benjamin Fish Common, we feel she will be a great complement to the goal we have of a holistic and healthy lifestyle,” said John Wood, owner of The Green Grocer.

The plaza is considered by many a wellness hub based on the like-minded businesses locating there such as All About You Relaxation and Wellness Spa established by Janet Ferreira and Integrative Psychotherapy Collaborative established by Eleanor Howard, LICSW and Barbara Smith, LICSW.

“In that we are all practicing disciplines that foster health and well being, there is an implicit camaraderie, and we anticipate learning from and referring to each other,” said Eleanor Howard, LICSW of Integrative Psychotherapy Collaborative.

The ribbon cutting ceremony for New Horizon Chiropractic and Wellness will be held at noon with a catered open house to follow at 12:30pm during which attendees will have an opportunity to meet Dr. Misty Kosciusko, owner of the newly established practice, view the facility, and learn about available treatment options. Refreshments and door prizes will be part of the celebration.  

Representatives from the Newport County business community will be present to welcome the new healthcare practice to the region.

Dr. Kosciusko specializes in using many different treatment modalities with her patients. Such treatments include but are not limited to chiropractic manipulative treatment –often called adjustments, custom fit “Sole Support” orthotics, physiotherapy, rehabilitation exercises, soft tissue treatment, and nutritional counseling including weight loss and detoxification programs.

Dr. Misty Kosciusko is a graduate from the University of Bridgeport College of Chiropractic and is a Board certified Chiropractic Physician. Born and raised in Warwick, Rhode Island, she obtained a Bachelors degree in Exercise Science from the University of Rhode Island in 2005. She completed her Masters degree in Clinical Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport.
