Daniel Bauer was diagnosed back in 2002, which led to an abrupt fall of his rising, famed career. Since 2002, Bauer has been speaking at various national and local events, conferences and universities about his experiences. In 2009, Bauer returned back to the stage with a brand new off-Broadway production, Purity, and is now renewing his commitment to providing renewed hope for those living with HIV/AIDS, educating those who are still "afraid" of those living with HIV/AIDS, and building a much needed intimate, yet shell shocking awareness for prevention which seems that,  "Our nation, this and next generations, parents, adults, organizations and many more are simply too afraid to have."
