Dr. Ken Druck Returns to NYC for Tenth Anniversary of 9-11

Sept. 6, 2011 - PRLog -- Having commuted to NY in the years following 9-11 from his home in San Diego, Dr. Ken Druck was a lifeline for countless grieving families.  Born out of the tragic loss of his own daughter, Jenna, in 1996, Druck’s Families Helping Families (FHF) program (see www.jennadruck.org), served as a template for many grief support programs and services which arose after 9-11.  Considered one of the nation’s top bereavement specialists, Druck worked with hundreds of 9-11 families at the WTC Bereavement and Trauma Center and New York Fire Department.  He inspired thousands of surviving family members throughout the NY area, speaking at churches, schools, town hall meetings and through local and national news media.  The FHF slogan “Hope Loves Company” was adopted by several 9-11 organizations.  His articles and spoken-word CD, “Healing Your Life After the Loss of a Loved One,” were distributed to every 9-11 family and organization.

Much as in 2001, Dr. Druck has been invited to NY – this time to give a series of programs, talks and town hall meetings in honor of the 10th Anniversary of 9-11.   His schedule includes:

Thursday, 9/8      Meeting privately with 9-11 families on Long Island.  

Friday, 9/9            Leading a private, invitation-only workshop for employees of several
                             Wall Street companies profoundly affected by 9-11.

Saturday, 9/10      3:30-4:30, Giving a workshop, “Resilience 10 Years After” as part
                               of the Voices of September 11th “Day of Remembrance” at the NY
                               Downtown Marriott Hotel on 85 West Street.

On September 11th, Dr. Druck will join Presidents’ Obama and Bush, Mayors’ Bloomberg and Giuliani, Governors’ Cuomo and Pataki, thousands of 9-11 family members and honored guests for the Remembrance Ceremonies at Ground Zero.
