Sept. 6, 2011 - PRLog -- Sectional title training firm Paddocks is pleased to announce that, until 30 September 2011, anybody who registers for the 13th presentation of the popular University of Cape Town (Law@Work) Sectional Title Scheme Management course will receive a R750 discount. The course fee has been raised due to the standard annual fee increase. However, those who take advantage of the “early bird” promotion will pay the old fee, saving R750 off the total cost.

The six-month, part-time UCT (Law@Work) Sectional Title Scheme Management course is the benchmark training course for anybody involved in sectional title in South Africa – from community scheme managers and estate agents to owners and trustees. It has been run successfully since 2005 and has trained over two thousand people in the management, laws and rules of sectional title schemes.

Managing schemes under the Sectional Titles Act, 1986 (“the Act”) is an increasingly complex task, requiring detailed knowledge of the Act and the prescribed rules and an overall understanding of the South African legal system as well as scheme management practices.  The law applicable to scheme management is under constant review. Failing to know and apply the legal requirements for scheme governance may have serious consequences, particularly for professional managing agents.

Anyone involved in scheme management will benefit from this course, particularly those who render management services to schemes, including managing agents, attorneys, estate agents, scheme auditors and accountants, dispute resolution service providers and trustees. The course covers a wide range of topics, from basic South African law to financial management, dispute resolution and dealing with managing agents.

As a Paddocks student, you complete your course entirely online. This means that you can study from the comfort of your home or office without the need to travel. Once your course begins, the Course Convener and Course Coordinator assist students to complete their studies by providing constant and proactive support. Paddocks offers a high-touch online education service, which makes it very different from other distance learning institutions.
