Since its inception in 1992, the KCPD's CARE Team has helped hundreds of Police officers and their families. The CARE Team currently has 400 volunteers who help members of the Police family deal with challenges that arise, such as a line-of-duty injury or death, or a military deployment.
Kayla Sheer is the owner of only.young.once, mother of 2 small children and wife of a KCPD police officer. "I've been in business for over 5 years and have often felt the draw to use my gift of photographing children for more than just a job. God has blessed me with this gift and I needed to figure out a way to give back."
The 12 month, 2012, weCARE calendar will feature children and grandchildren of the KCMO Police Department. Models have been accepted and sittings are currently in progress.
"As the wife of an officer, I hope that we never have the need of the CARE Team's assistance, but I want to do my part in allowing their work to continue."
The calendar's will be distributed in mid-November and all proceeds will be given to the Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department's CARE Team.
