Sept. 5, 2011 - PRLog -- The European BEST Engineering Competition (EBEC) gathered 104 of the Continent’s most promising technology students on August 10, 2011. The competition assigns an engineering problem to participants working in teams, requiring them to apply technical and soft skills, cultural awareness and creativity to find a solution.

The competition was divided into two categories: Team Design and Case Study. After ten days of intensive work, the KTH Royal Institute of Technology’s team took the top award in the Case Study category

“The best thing about the competition was getting to know so many new, interesting people from different countries. Making contacts all over the world is just as important and as much fun as the actual competition experience,” Hultman said.

A total of 26 teams—13 in each category—advanced to the finals. The Swedish participants had already qualified for the final in a Nordic competition held in Trondheim, Norway.

The engineering competition is organised by European student organisations in the Board of European Students of Technology (BEST), in cooperation with companies and universities. The EBEC 2012 final competition will be held in Zagreb, Croatia.
