Sept. 5, 2011 - PRLog -- Experimenta are pleased to partner with Asialink to present Selectively Revealed, an exhibition of twelve Australian media artworks curated and presented as part of Asialink’s Touring Exhibition Program. For 21 years Asialink has worked to initiate cultural and artistic exchange between Australia and the countries of Asia. Their consistent aim is to promote cultural understanding, information exchange and artistic endeavour across the region. To this end, Experimenta is excited to partner with Asialink whose track record of bringing crowds through Asia’s prestigious gallery doors to view the very best of Australian artworks has continued to skyrocket.

For 25 years, Experimenta has transformed public spaces, exhibition venues and corporate environments into captivating, interactive, and thought provoking destinations. Experimenta exhibitions and commissioned artworks confirm Australia’s place at the forefront of technical and artistic innovation.

Providing an incredible opportunity for the 12 Australian artists participating, Selectively Revealed investigates the blurry line between the public and the private in artistic practice. Employing a variety of screen and contemporary video-making techniques, each artist in the exhibition chooses precisely what - or what not - to reveal about those around them and themselves.

The list of artists is impressive:
Peter Alwast (NSW), Catherine Bell (VIC), Julia Burns (NSW), Penelope Cain (NSW), Christopher Fulham (ACT), Isobel Knowles & Van Sowerwine (VIC), Anastasia Klose (VIC), Jess MacNeil (NSW), Angelica Mesiti (NSW), Ms&Mr (NSW), Anne Scott Wilson (VIC) and Michael Zavros (QLD).

Selectively Revealed will tour to a number of venues across Asia launching in Korea: 26 October – 11 December 2011 at the Aram Art Gallery, Seoul; then as part of the Jakarta Biennale at the National Gallery of Fine Art 15 December 2011 – 15 January 2012; then onto Taiwan: 11 February – 13 May 2012 at the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, Taipei with the final leg of the tour in Thailand: 4 June – 21 July 2012 at the Chulalongkorn University Art Space, Bangkok.

Experimenta Director Jen Mizuik says; “We believe the media artists represented in this tour showcase the very best of Australian innovation and artistic endeavour and Experimenta are pleased to work with Asialink to expose them to such a receptive audience.”

Sarah Bond, Director Asialink Arts says of Selectively Revealed; “We have seen record breaking audience attendance and engagement for Australian digital art over the past year and expect that working with Experimenta will help to further promote cultural exchange in the region.”

The exhibition tour will debut at Aram Art Gallery, Seoul, 26 October to 11 December 2011. Selectively Revealed is presented in Asia as part of a working partnership between Experimenta and Asialnk.
