Sept. 3, 2011 - PRLog -- HONOLULU, HI, SEPTEMBER 2, 2011 – Music and photography blend together in artistic liquidity when musician Natalie Kawai's musical piece “Christy” is unveiled at the Honolulu Academy of Arts “An Underwater Odyssey," a new photographic exhibition with work by Christy Lee Rogers on September 4, 2011 from 2-6 PM. The exhibit is set to run through October 12.

Natalie Kawai
composed the music for the show by photographer Christy Lee Rogers because “Christy uses water as I use music. The notes relay an emotional reality that cannot be captured otherwise. The intrigue and mystery deeply carved in the human psyche transpires through music, revealing a thread, a memory conveyed by the soul.”
With light refraction as the technical foundation for her work, Rogers utilizes the phenomenon of light as it passes from the air, which has a lower optical density, into water, with a higher optical density, to capture in-camera images, without the modern post-production manipulations.

Continuing with her experiments of water, space and movement, this latest collection, Odyssey, features large-scale ethereal portraits and emotional narratives photographed on O‘ahu and set underwater.

Photographer Christy Lee Rogers enjoys working with water as a medium in her photographic art.  ”By using water as a medium in my photography, I found that I could take reality and transform it into this ideal vision by using the refraction and reflection of light through water,” says Lee Rogers.  “The water has a life of its own and that’s what makes capturing its interaction with the human body, color, light and movement so intriguing."

Musician Kawai (see http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/rain-over-night/id369848315) was born with the gift of clairaudience.  She has worked for years with all kinds of people and has witnessed the pain of many. She realized that pain was here for a reason and followed the leads of these reasons which resulted in her creation of a holistic program to address all pain issues right at the very core. Having reached Oneness with Source through years of clearing her field, she can now help people to achieve what she achieved: Full Consciousness, and living in the delight of the now. She uses powerful tools, amongst which are “healing sounds” created with her “Tibetan Singing Bowls”.
