Elgin Country Club Head Golf Professional Jon Duppler Places 6th in Illinois PGA Championship

Sept. 2, 2011 - PRLog -- Jon Duppler posted scores of 70, 72 and 71, over three days in the Illinois Section PGA Championship, including eight birdies and one eagle, shooting even par for the course.  Jon held off tough competition and finished tied for sixth in the tournament.  “I feel fortunate to have played as well as I did this week.  There was a lot of great competition in the field”, said Duppler.  “I am looking forward to traveling to California to participate in the PGA Professional National Championship next year”.  Because of his sixth place finish, Jon will now move on to compete in the 45th PGA Professional National Championship, June 24-27, 2012 held at Bayonet/Black Horse in Seaside, California.  The Illinois Section PGA Championship was held August 29th-31st, and filled a field of 156 golf professionals from across the state.  Jon competed for one of 11 national qualifying spots available in 54 holes of Stroke Play competition.  This tournament was open to any Illinois PGA Class A Member in good standing.
