Macy’s Introduces Barefoot Tess Shoes In Women’s Sizes 11-15

Sept. 2, 2011 - PRLog -- In September Macy’s will introduce the Barefoot Tess line in its State Street location in Chicago and through Macys.com. Barefoot Tess is the premier retailer in its product category, providing fashion-forward shoes in sizes 11-15 to tall women around the world, including WNBA stars and other tall celebrities.  

The company's recent expansion into wholesaling its line to major retailers is a reflection of a growing demand in the industry.  The average woman's foot at the turn of the century was a size 5; by 2010, size 9 had become the norm.  Once considered a niche business, the large-shoe market has been measured at $300 million in the United States (based on the latest U.S. Census figures) and continues to grow.  The company estimates that the worldwide figure is closer to $1 billion.

The fall collection includes flats, heels, and boots in leather and suede, as well as weather boots.  Shoes retail for between $49 and $199.
