Sept. 1, 2011 - PRLog -- On 28th August 2011 Frontline Events, like many enjoyed the biggest stars from Adele to Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber to Bruno Mars and golden couples like Katy Perry and Russell Brand to Jay-Z and Beyonce graced the red carpet with their presence to be at the hottest event in the music world’s calendar! All of them turned out to see the phenomenal performances on show and watch the best performers from the last year get recognised for the amazing work they have contributed to the music world. Frontline Events Managing Director, Gillian O’Brien said ‘As expected the stars turned out in force, it’s great to see so many icon’s at these events and the style they bring to the music world.’

One of the most talked about performances of the evening was Jo Calderone, a smoke-spouting mechanic who delivered a monologue about his ex-girlfriend, Lady Gaga! Jo Calderone was of course none other than Lady Gaga herself. Most of the audience looked completely shocked at her strange performance of ‘You and I’, but it got everyone on their feet. Frontline Events Managing Director said ‘Jo Calderone was mesmerising to watch, Lady Gaga completely got in character. It is plain to see for everyone watching on the night, and the reaction of the stars in the audience, that it was one of those surreal moments where everyone was baffled as to what was going on’. Bruno Mars delivered a stunning cover of ‘Valerie’ using Amy Winehouse’s melody. Pictures of Amy were shown behind him as the band rocked away and the final words were changed as a tribute to Amy as the camera focused it’s lens on some of the people who knew her in the audience.  Gillian O’Brien said ‘I think everyone knew there would have to be some kind of a tribute to Amy Winehouse, Bruno Mars did an amazing job. I think it brought a tear to a few people’s eyes.’  Some of the other stars who performed were Adele – Someone Like You, Pit Bull – Give Me Everything and Chris Brown did a collaboration of a few of his songs.

Without a doubt though, the biggest news to come from the VMA’s, and to smash the record for most tweeted about topic (with 8868 tweets per second!!), was the news that  Beyonce and Jay-Z are expecting their first child. Having told photographers on the red carpet before the show ‘I have a little surprise for you…’ and after delivering a sensational rendition of ‘Love on Top’, she unbuttoned her jacket and rubbed her slightly raised stomach and announced ‘I want you to feel the love that’s growing inside me!’ A very ecstatic Jay-Z cheered from the side-line whist receiving congratulations from the audience. Frontline Events said ‘It must be so exciting for them to not only be expecting their first child, but to wait to announce it at the VMA Awards!! They are one of the most private couples in show-biz history so to put that news out there like that must have been a great feeling!!!’

Frontline Events will be attending their own annual industry awards ceremony in January.
