GRAPA Launches New Revenue Assurance Launch Pad

Breaking down the political barriers between operations and revenue assurance

Sept. 1, 2011 - PRLog -- In response to the growing demand by telecom organizations to quickly build a Revenue Assurance (RA) team, GRAPA has launched the Revenue Assurance Launch Pad. The Launch Pad Program is designed for telecommunications organizations looking to quickly start up a successful Revenue Assurance department in the short space of 6 weeks.

The department that will emerge through this process will prove to be an advantageous investment, with significant financial and risk management returns for top management and the organization as a whole. Even within an environment where no Revenue Assurance function had previously existed, Launch Pad ensures that the new team will effectively control revenue risk in every corner of the telco. This new RA team will allow the telco to be certified in Revenue Assurance according to internationally ratified industry standards. Team members will have the knowledge and tools necessary to implement a comprehensive series of standard controls for the mitigation of revenue risk throughout the organization.

The Revenue Assurance Launch Pad is not “training”. It is more of an organizational realignment. GRAPA goes to a participating organization and helps to bring the RA people together with operational teams and coaches them on how to do Revenue Assurance. The operational managers learn hands on how and why they should use and like the RA team. The results obtained from participating in the Revenue Assurance Launch Pad include a breaking down of the political barriers that typically exist between these two groups.

GRAPA also has a new track for the IT team where they help them build a data warehouse specifically to RA requirements. Outcomes from this track include paving the way for a good relationship between RA and IT.

A third component of the new management briefings is to ensure that management knows exactly what it is getting with its new RA team and that they have the right KPIs, and to make sure everyone knows how to leverage the RA team to maximize competitive advantage.

“In order to do this, the process takes 6 weeks, with three phases. Basically, we first go to the company and provide training for RA/Operations. Secondly, we start the IT team on the system, and smooth over management issues and we discuss their top priorities and how RA fits into them.”

“The second phase is homework. We leave them with homework and checklists to prove that they get it, and can do it without our help. Then we come back for a final week, do verifications, troubleshoot, and resolve final issues.”
