Teeing-off at 9.30am on Saturday, 50 BMGA Tour members and top players from Sweden, Germany and Finland will be descending on the World of Golf centre for the BMGA British Open. The two-day tournament will comprise of four rounds of competitive Minigolf on the Saturday for all players, before a ‘cut’ is made to decide the group of 36 players who will play two more rounds on the Sunday. The top 18 players will then take part in the seventh and final ‘Super Round’ to decide the final rankings and the winner will be crowned the 2011 BMGA British Open champion. There will be a prize fund of over £1000 at the event with the overall winner taking home £500 and the prestigious BMGA British Open trophy.
The BMGA British Open will be played with a rolling start, teeing-off at 9.30am on Saturday. This will enable spectators and players to watch competitors throughout the day as there will always be people out on the course, and will offer a great insight into the challenges that the course provides. The trophy presentations will be made on Sunday at close of play (approx 5pm).

In last year’s BMGA British Open Sweden’s Eirik Seljelid lifted the trophy. The runner-up was Finland’s Jouni Valkjärvi, with London’s Nick Chitty in third place
On Friday 16th September the traditional curtain raiser for the BMGA British Open, the BMGA Players Championship and International Players Championship, will take place. The format of the charity competition is a mixture of strokeplay and matchplay, played out over a maximum of three rounds and is a great warm-up for the British Open itself. The Players Championship competitions will tee-off at 2pm on Friday.
