The BMGA Great Britain Minigolf Team for the 2011 WMF World Minigolf Championships consisted of Marc Chapman, Chris Harding, Sean Homer, Tony Kelly, John McIver, Brad Shepherd and Michael Smith and finished in 15th place in the men’s team tournament. The team were coached at the tournament by Sweden’s Björn Dinau and Eirik Seljelid.
In the individual rankings Michael Smith finished highest amongst the Great Britain players, with a final ranking of 79th. Marc Chapman was 88th, Chris Harding 90th, Sean Homer 95th, Brad Shepherd and Tony Kelly tied for 100th place and John McIver was 105th.
The overall winners of the men’s team tournament were Sweden, with Germany runners-up and Switzerland in third place.
The Great Britain Team took on competitors from Austria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Latvia, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Russia, Slovakia, Sweden and Switzerland.

The WMF World Minigolf Championships was the third International Minigolf Tournament the Great Britain Minigolf Sport Team has competed in this year following the WMF World Adventure Golf Masters in Hastings, East Sussex in May and the WMF Nations Cup in Stockholm in June.
In the latest World Minigolf Sport Federation (WMF) Rankings Great Britain has moved up from 24th position (of 30 Nations), to be ranked 20th of 31 Countries in the WMF World Rankings. The top three places are taken by Sweden, Germany and Switzerland.
Following the 2011 WMF World Minigolf Championships, 40 BMGA Tour Players have made a total of 94 appearances representing Great Britain in International Minigolf Tournaments since 1999. Peter Parr was the first GB International and made his debut in a WMF Minigolf Tournament at the 1999 World Minigolf Championships, in Papendal, The Netherlands.

The BMGA Tour consists of Minigolf ranking events that take place at Minigolf, Crazy Golf and Adventure Golf courses across the UK. Last year there were 22 BMGA Tour competitions and a total of 15 players lifted BMGA Tour titles.
