Sept. 1, 2011 - PRLog -- GREENVILLE, S.C. – The South Carolina Department of Commerce and the Greenville Area Development Corporation today announced that NEM USA Corporation, a global leader in the field of heat recovery steam generators and industrial and utility boilers, has established its new North American center of operations in Greenville County. The company expects to generate 40 new jobs over the next two years as the center becomes fully operational.

“We are pleased to establish our North American operations here in Greenville County, and we expect that doing so will allow us to significantly grow in sales, profitability and service delivery to our North American customers,” said Brad Cunic, president of NEM USA Corporation.  “The Upstate is a hub for top engineering talent and will provide an excellent home for our growing business, and we appreciate all of the support we have received from local and state officials.”

NEM USA’s new operations, located at 164 Milestone Way in Greenville, will encompass more than 7,000 square feet and include engineering, marketing, sales, customer support and administrative functions.

“Once again, South Carolina shows that it is a globally competitive location for international companies to establish operations. We celebrate NEM USA’s decision to do business in the Palmetto State and create 40 new jobs,” said Gov. Nikki Haley.

With its global headquarters located in Leiden, the Netherlands, NEM USA Corporation is a subsidiary of NEM B.V. and employs more than 600 professionals worldwide in seven countries.  Founded in 1929, the company designs, engineers and produces custom heat recovery solutions for industry and utilities around the world, and is developing new technologies including steam generation for solar power applications.

“While the global economic environment has been challenging for everyone, NEM already has a significant installed base in North America, and the importance of maximizing energy efficiency continues to grow,” said Cunic in explaining the company’s decision to establish new North American operations.  “We project accelerating growth in demand for our energy efficient product lines by both existing and new manufacturing and utility customers, plus establishing this operation will also allow us to serve our existing customer base at an even-higher level.”

NEM currently has more than 60 heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs) in use in the United States, including two at Santee Cooper’s Iva Station in Anderson County, and serves a wide range of customers including Siemens, General Electric, Duke Energy, Florida Power & Light, and many others.

“NEM USA’s new North American headquarters adds to the growing list of international companies that choose to set up shop in South Carolina. International companies remain an important part of our state’s economy,” said Bobby Hitt, Secretary of Commerce.

Fourteen employees are already in place at the new center, and the balance will be added over the next 12-24 months, Cunic noted.  Anyone interested in applying for positions in procurement, logistics, sales, purchasing, IT, and chemical and structural engineering roles can review position opportunities on the company website (www.nemusacorp.com) or submit resumes to careers@nemusacorp.com.

“NEM USA is yet another great example of a global company that combines world-class technology with innovative research and development choosing Greenville County to expand,” said Chris Riley, chairman of the Greenville Area Development Corporation. “We are pleased to welcome NEM USA as our newest corporate citizen, and appreciate the commitment of capital investment and creation of quality jobs in Greenville County."
