Aug. 31, 2011 - PRLog -- Today, leading Mattress Reviews website, qMattresses.com released the results of its most recent mattress complaints survey. Its latest data points to premature sagging as the most common complaint among existing mattress owners, particularly innerspring mattress owners, and comfort as the biggest complaint among memory foam owners.

The findings rely on 187 complaints that the website collected over the past 45 days from owners of 20 different mattress brands reviewed by the website.

"Our results reveal a great deal about the satisfaction levels of today's mattress consumer," wrote Christopher Fitch, Site Editor, in a statement today. "Interestingly enough, there is a noteworthy difference between coil owners and foam owners."

The post takes a broad view of all complaints and also breaks down its findings into two groups - one for traditional coil mattresses and the other for foam mattresses. It further categorized its findings into five different complaints including Sagging, Comfort, Quality, Customer Support (from the manufacturer) and Odor.

"We were surprised to find so many comfort complaints," Fitch admitted. "Comfort complaints center around aches and pains, including severe back pain. To our surprise, the majority of these complaints came from foam mattress owners; the same industry that aggressively markets its product as the best 'back-pain' sleeping solution."

According to the survey, the most common Mattress Problems for traditional coil mattresses was sagging, a problem the site says it sees quite often from owners.

"The way mattresses are manufactured today results in sagging," Fitch acknowledged. "In many cases, the sagging translates into longer-term, reduced spinal support which explains why we see such a close relationship between sagging and comfort complaints. The difference with foam products is that they do not have springs to wear down, so sagging is less of a complaint."

Consumers who are looking to replace their mattress, particularly over the third and fourth quarters of the year can access the Complaints data as well as premium reviews and other sleep-related information at qMattresses.com at no cost.
