PRLog - Aug. 31, 2011 - Volunteers from one of Fife’s leading legal, financial and property specialists, Pagan Osborne, are gearing up for a move of a very different kind this weekend as they prepare for the inaugural Turn Back Time @ Tentsmuir event which will launch this year’s Fife Outdoor Access Festival this Saturday.

Fife Outdoor Access Festival, which runs from Saturday 3rd – Sunday 11th September, offers an extensive programme of around 70 outdoor events for outdoor enthusiasts of all ages. Now in its fourth year, the festival celebrates Fife’s great outdoors and promotes the Scottish outdoor access code through offering a wide range of events covering everything from walking to cycling, and rambling for the disabled to horse riding.

Turn Back Time @ Tentsmuir is a new event in the festival’s calendar and takes place this Saturday 3rd September. It offers visitors to Tentsmuir Forest a great day out as well as the opportunity to turn back time to the 1940s, complete with army drills on the beach, tea dances among the trees and jitter-bugging in the forest.

The team of volunteers from Pagan Osborne have come together to help out event organisers as part of the European Union’s Year of Volunteering celebrations which are being held throughout 2011.

Tania Hemming, marketing and business development director with Pagan Osborne commented “We are delighted to be able to assist Fife Outdoor Access Festival and be part of such a major event that takes place on our doorstep here in Fife. We actively encourage our staff to get involved with local volunteering opportunities and this is a perfect example of how, by working together, we can really make a difference.”

Festival co-ordinator, Tricia Fox commented “Events such as Turn Back Time @ Tentsmuir rely heavily on volunteers in order to bring them to fruition and we are extremely grateful to Pagan Osborne for pulling together a team to assist us in the running of this event. Volunteering is a great opportunity for firms to extend the knowledge and experience of their existing team as well as make a difference to organisations and charities locally.”

“There are millions of individuals and companies across Europe who donate their time and their expertise to their local communities, and the European Union’s Year of Volunteering pays homage to that fact, celebrating the positive impact they all have on the lives we live. I am certain that the participants in Saturday’s event will greatly appreciate their support and dedication.” she concluded.

Turn Back Time @ Tentsmuir, which has been supported by Forestry Commission Scotland as part of the UN’s International Year of the Forests year-long celebration, is run jointly by Fife Coast & Countryside Trust and Fife Access Forum.

James McDougall, International Year of the Forests Co-ordinator for Forestry Commission Scotland, said "We're happy to support the launch of this event which is a terrific and fun way for people to explore and enjoy Tentsmuir Forest regardless of their age and abilities. It promises to be popular and it’s fantastic to see that it not only celebrates forests, but also the very many volunteers that give their time and expertise in promoting these forests to others."

The full programme of festival events can be viewed and booked online at www.fifeoutdooraccessfestival.co.uk or by calling 0871 288 5670.
