THE DESIGNER
Maria Francesca Paternò, a Sicilian-born fashion engineer, has been working in the fashion industry for thirty years. Devoted to the search for Beauty, the Italian haute couture designer started working for notable fashion houses in the late Seventies, a professional experience which earned her great respect in her field, both locally and internationally.
THE SHOOTING
The photos were taken in London at Celebrity Publicity, Fay L. Bacon’s fashion and media agency, by internationally renowned photographer Alan Strutt of UK Model Folios (UMF). Strutt is known for his iconic portraits of Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell.
THE GOWNS
The first gown is made of silk. Two layers of chiffon lightly fall from a draped waist creating a chromatic difference between two shades of green. The bodice is enriched by French lace and vintage embroideries from the Seventies.
The second dress is a black and white mermaid gown, reminiscent of Hollywood’

Miss Great Britain was ecstatic about the idea of wearing Francesca Paternò’s creations. The Liverpool-born model personally chose the dresses for the photoshoot.
