Aug. 31, 2011 - PRLog -- IMTI, the Industrial Management & Training Institute at 233 Mill Street in Waterbury, CT (www.IMTI.edu) has announced evening training classes will begin on Monday, September 19 for electrical technicians, electronics systems technicians, HVAC technicians, and plumbing technicians. Since 1986, IMTI has been successfully training electricians, plumbers, electronic systems and HVAC technicians through their career-oriented programs. Curriculum for all IMTI programs focus on classroom study as well as hands-on industry skill training. All upcoming IMTI training classes will be held Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays evenings from 6:00 to 10:00 PM at 233 Mill Street in Waterbury, and are completed within 15 months to 18 months.

Beginning September 19, IMTI will offer both day and evening training programs for electrical technicians for residential, commercial and industrial electrical wiring.  Students will learn about the communications field and burglar/fire alarm systems, and will receive a combination of theory and practical hands-on training. In addition to the potential to become self-employed electrical contractors, graduates will be eligible to apply for entry level positions as an electrical apprentice; telecommunications technician; burglar/fire alarm installation and repair specialist; cable installer; motor repair service technician; or a maintenance electrician for manufacturers and large commercial building operators. IMTI’s day and evening programs for electrical technicians are 19 months, 900 hours in length.

The electronic systems technician program offered by IMTI beginning September 19 is designed to train tradesmen for low-voltage residential, commercial and industrial electrical wiring. The program provides extensive training in burglar alarm systems, video, wireless, audio, nurse call and signaling systems, TV and broadband systems, access control system, media management systems, telecommunication systems and fire alarms. IMTI’s electronics systems training program spans 19 months, 900 hours.

IMTI’s HVAC technician training program provides classroom and extensive hands-on educational training. Graduates secure the skills to become apprentices in the refrigeration, heating and air conditioning service industries. They are eligible for entry level apprenticeship positions as a general service person installing or servicing heating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems, plus maintaining and monitoring major installations in hospitals, large offices and industrial buildings, or manufacturing HVAC equipment as a field technician or troubleshooter. Many graduates pursue careers as self-employed HVAC contractors. IMTI’s HVAC training is 19 months, 900 hours in length.

The plumbing technician evening program at IMTI offers classroom instruction as well as practical hands-on training to install, fit, repair, and maintain residential, commercial, and industrial plumbing. Students obtain the skills to become self-employed plumbing contactors or to take on entry-level apprenticeship positions in residential, commercial, and industrial plumbing applications. IMTI’s plumbing technician course spans 720 hours over 15 months.

IMTI also offers HVAC and electrical technician training day classes Mondays through Thursdays from 8:00 A.M. to 2:30 P.M. and can be completed within 10 months’ time.

Founded by Marcel Veronneau at 233 Mill Street in Waterbury in 1986, IMTI, with a satellite technical school in the Consolidated Edison Learning Center in Long Island City in Queens, New York, has been successfully training electricians, plumbers, electronic systems and HVAC technicians in current technologies and job skills. All IMTI programs are career-oriented with classroom curriculums that include education as well as hands-on industry skills training.

IMTI is approved by The State of Connecticut, The National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER), and Licensed by the State of New York, and accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges. Veronneau stated, “We are open seven days every week. We offer day, evening and weekend in-classroom courses, plus Continuing Education courses for licensed plumbers and electricians.”
