Kitchen Dial gets even better with the use of ‘touch free’ mode, where you can rotate the phone from side to side to spin the dials to the measurement type and backwards or forwards to select between the dials. That makes sure that when you are in the kitchen and things get messy, your screen doesn’t need to get messy too. An added bonus is that while Kitchen Dial is on your phone, it won’t go to sleep on you while cooking.
Kitchen Dial had been in the works for about 6 months after its creator Daniel Cunningham found a big need in the kitchen. “My goal was to make an app that I needed in the kitchen, something simple that didn’t require me to type in numbers. Especially while I was cooking! I noticed that those conversions I needed were always in the middle of a messy situation, so having the option to not touch the screen and get the conversion I need is something really handy. I hope people out there get as much out of it as I do.” said Daniel Cunningham, iOS Developer and creator of Kitchen Dial.
The great features included in the first release of Kitchen Dial include:
A Simple Dial Interface which keeps things intuitive by adapting to your selections displaying the dials as singular or plural.
Two Simple Buttons: Touch Free Motion Menu and the Settings Button
Anti Sleep Mode while Kitchen Dial is on, so you can keep converting without worrying about having to unlock your phone again right when you need that conversion.
Touch Free mode: just shake the iPhone to activate. Rotate Left or Right to spin the Dial to the measurement you need. A light fling forwards or backwards changes the selection of the dials. As demonstrated at www.kitchendial.com
As for the near future of Kitchen Dial, there are some great additions in progress. The much asked for weight measurement conversions will be incorporated as an in-app purchase which will add a whole new selectable dial mainly based on British metric conversions. So the two worlds of measurements will truly meet together in perfect harmony. Another huge element that is being developed is a whole array of high quality skin themes which will be available as in app purchases.
Users can download to application in any country where an iTunes Store is available.
