What the hell is a Canadian action-hero?

The world, it seems, equates action-hero’s with comic figures (Superman, Batman, Spiderman, man,) not to mention other Hollywood driven names such as Dirty Harry, James Bond, et al. But what is a Canadian action-hero? Does one even exist?

Intrusion
Aug. 30, 2011 - PRLog -- Indeed, that question sparked a new series, a story-line centered around a Canadian anti-terrorist fighter, Keeno McCole, who heads up the RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) Anti-Terrorist branch.  McCole doesn’t climb walls, or fly, or bend steel or cast spider webs. He doesn’t even woo women, nor does he sport a tuxedo while drinking thirty-year old cognac – “shaken, not stirred”.  None of this is to suggest that there is anything wrong with these other heroes. Indeed – these figures have given us both entertainment and visions to aspire to, if only in a subjective sense.
The book Intrusion – A Keeno Action Novel, is about a terrorist attack on Canada - a nation which has not been defiled by foreign aggression since the War of 1812.  McCole, and his hand-picked team, go up against the worst kind of enemy, a terrorism which strikes deep to the heart of the Canadian world, and which opens the door to a new kind of terrorism, which if not overcome, would surely lead the world towards a redefinition of freedom as we know it.
For lack of a better term, McCole is a new kid on the block of “action-figures”. He steps on the road to becoming the antichrist of criminals and terrorists, at the age of four, when his own father attempts to bludgeon his mother to death. Keeno learns at a young age that survival is a matter of choice. McCole is part indigenous Canadian Indian, part French, and mix of the British Isles floating through his blood – but most of all, he’s a man with an attitude, he barely tolerates authority, he evades death at every turn, but not without taking his share of bullets, wounds and countless scars to show for it. McCole is a very real man, with a very real mission – and he goes to extremes to make it happen.
Intrusion is the first book in this new series. It takes the reader from Toronto to America, to China, Vancouver and into the deepest parts of the Canadian north. It is international in scope, and the battle which begins in Canada, soon spreads into New York City, and  beyond.
