Follow on Google News | Cemlyn Jones To Perform At Marlens FestivalA Clevedon singer who has worked with the likes of Suede, Pulp and Gill Scott Heron is set to perform at the annual Marine Lake Festival.
By: Kayleigh Sydenham Taking place, this year, on 23-25 September, the Clevedon Marine Lake Festival is organised by non-profit organisation MARLENS and offers fun for the whole family. Music acts like Cemlyn will be performing across the whole weekend as well as a host of other activities and entertainment. The festival also offers the community a chance to enjoy the lake and celebrate its existence. MARLENS chairman Joe Norman said: “Music acts at previous festivals have always been a massive hit so we knew we wanted to better ourselves and expand this part of the weekend. “We have added an additional stage at the Victorian Bandstand on the seafront, due to popular demand, and more performers will be entertaining over the whole weekend. “We are thrilled to announce that Cemlyn will be joining us, he is a fantastic home-grown talent and he’s sure to have the crowds on their feet.” As well as musical acts the festival will also feature stalls, sideshows, a climbing wall, a children’s gym, lots of inflatables and a firework display over the lake. The lake will be a focal point as always, with activities such as canoeing, sailing, zorbing, model boat racing and a raft race taking place. For those who like a bit of healthy competition there will be a tug-of-war contest, a dog agility display, a truck pull competition and family ‘It’s a knockout’. All this fun needs a lot of organisation as Joe explained: “An awful lot of work goes into making the festival a brilliant weekend for everyone, so we are appealing to the local community to come forward and help out. “If you’ve got a spare hour over the weekend we are looking for people to help us put up stalls and attractions on Friday 23 and take it all down on the evening of 25 and morning of 26 September. Any help offered would be greatly appreciated!” If you would like to help out at the festival please contact Joe Norman on 01275 877 180 or at info@marlens.org.uk For a full line-up of what’s going on when and for more information please visit the MARLENS website at www.marlens.org.uk End
