Labor Day Weekend TV Special: First Broadcast of Jeffery Leving’s Keynote Speech

Leving on CAN-TV (Ch.21) talk about the critical role of fathers in their children’s lives. His inspirational speech at A Safe Haven Foundation was empowering to the homeless fathers who attended the Fatherhood Forum hoping to reconnect with their children.

Labor Day is a celebration of the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of America. It is the day when every American feels pride in the work they’ve done to help their children and their country. For those homeless fathers who are unemployed and needing jobs, it is also the perfect time to motivate and inspire them.

Co-founder and President of A Safe Haven Foundation, Neli Vazquez-Rowland, also contributes to this critical 30 minute documentary. Mrs. Vazquez-Rowland was honored by Chicago Magazine as the “Chicagoan of the Year.” She has worked with government legislators, such as Illinois Rep. La Shawn K. Ford, Congressman Danny Davis and others, to benefit the foundation.

“There is no one in the legal field that I know of that has done more for fathers’ rights than Jeffery Leving,” said Neli Vazquez-Rowland during her introduction of Mr. Leving’s keynote speech.

Attorney Leving is also the author of two landmark books, Fathers’ Rights and Divorce Wars. These books offer advice to struggling fathers who deal with child support, visitation and divorce issues, as well as offer legal strategies on how best to approach the emotional and psychological upheaval after a divorce.

“A father’s absence can hurt. The lack of a father’s presence in the life of a child is linked to substance abuse, teen pregnancy, promiscuity and a host of other issues that greatly lessen the child’s chance at success in life,” says Attorney Leving.

Named one of “America’s Best Lawyers” by Forbes Radio, Leving also co-authored important legislation for Illinois, such as the Right to DNA Testing Notice and Unlawful Visitation and Parenting Time Interference Laws, as well as the Joint Custody Law. He Chairs the Illinois Council on Responsible Fatherhood at the direction of the Governor.
