2011 Zoar Art Conest Winners Announced

PRLog (Press Release) - Aug. 29, 2011 - ZOAR, Ohio--Whitemyer Advertising, Inc. would like to announce the winners of the 2011 Zoar Art Competition & Exhibition held during the Zoar Harvest Festival August 6 - 7.

The $1,000 Edna Lueking Memorial Award went to Wanda Montgomery of Canton for her Best of Show watercolor entitled Zoar Hotel. The $500 Frederick Gottwald Award for best oil painting was presented to Gary Bodenschatz of North Canton for Bimeler Museum. The $500 Ora Koltman Watercolor Award was awarded to Don Weisgarber of Beach City for his work Patriot in Camouflage. The $100 Best Drawing and Sketches award went to James Bennett of Canton. The $500 Scott Whitemyer Memorial Student Award went to Bryan Bungo of North Canton.

The Zoar Art Competition & Exhibition was created to help renew interest in the creation of fine art depicting Zoar scenes. It is open to artists of high school ages and older, but artwork must feature subjects and scenes of Zoar. More than $24,000 has been awarded to contest participants over the past ten years.
