The Third Annual WPSU Wine Festival is Right Around the Corner!

PRLog (Press Release) - Aug. 29, 2011 - STATE COLLEGE, PA -   This year’s WPSU Wine Festival will be held on Sunday, September 25, 2011 at The Penn Stater Conference Center & Hotel.   Hundreds of guests from all over the United States and Europe are expected to attend to have the opportunity to taste and purchase a wide variety of wines from the United States, France, Germany, Italy, South America, and Australia.

According to Ted Liberti, the Wine Festival’s Co-Chair & Wine Coordinator, “The interest level exhibited so far has been such that we are easily expecting more than 600 wine-enthusiasts to attend. In addition to wine tasters and consumers, this year’s event has attracted several world-class Spanish importers from North Carolina, Washington DC, Virginia, New York, and New Jersey to join us for this special occasion. “

New to this year’s event is the Vibrant Rioja-sponsored VIP tasting seminar that will be held before the “Grand Tasting” that runs from 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM.   Spain's Vibrant Rioja will host a one-hour VIP tasting seminar starting at 12:30pm with wine educator and Rioja Wine ambassador extraordinaire, Marnie Old.  The VIP Vibrant Rioja tasting seminar is a dynamic tour of Spain’s most famous wine region along with nine Rioja wines not included in the Grand Tasting. The VIP Vibrant Rioja seminar is an additional $35 per person.

The grand tasting from 1pm to 5pm will feature over 285+ wines from around the world.  This year's event will feature some Spanish Flair with sponsor Vibrant Rioja's team in from NYC.  Glorious wines from world-class importers featuring Rioja wines include: De Maison Selections, Frontier Wine Imports, New Age Imports, Alain Blanchon Selections, Monsieur Touton Selections to name but a few.  Vibrant Rioja will have also have a table during the grand tasting along with tables for the PLCB’s Chairman Selections wines to sample and buy at the PLCB’s on-site wine & spirits store.

A selection of unique and premium wines, wine accessories, and art will be offered in both live and silent auctions throughout the afternoon.  In addition, select wines from the tasting, including many available only at the event, will be available for purchase at the PLCB's on-site PA Wine & Spirits store.  Tickets for the event, which are $65 for the “Grand Tasting”, can be purchased on-line at http://www.wpsu.org/tv/programs/wine_festival or http://wpsu.org/contribute/wine_form
