Aug. 28, 2011 - PRLog -- San Francisco, CA, USA - Peter Drucker once said, “The customer rarely buys what the business thinks it sells him.” Product Managers must recognize how the customer experiences "value" throughout every touch point in their process of interacting with the company, product and service. Brand Managers understand that positive customer experience must be guaranteed at every point to feed the funnel. Product Managers may only consider this when it comes to developing sales tools and product messaging.

Mack McCoy insists, “If you think you’re just selling a product, you’re wrong!  Customers have moved on. They see BRANDS as services and products as a component of the relationship they have with a variety of brands at any given time. Everything is migrating into a service. Customers still buy individual products, but their experience IS your brand impression - the product is important but it’s only a part of their entire relationship.”

Each week, The Global Product Management Talk features an expert guest speaker who asks questions of the participants on Twitter. The speaker and co-hosts broadcast their comments over BlogTalkRadio. The transcript of the Tweets and the audio recording are available after the live event.

Mack McCoy is Co-Founder, Executive Director, & Director of Social Media for Product Camp SoCal and Treasurer & Founding Board Member of Orange County Product Managers.  Mack has more than a decade of experience in product marketing, business transformation, product management and quality assurance focused in the Internet and Telecommunication industries.

Mack will be leading the weekly Global Product Management Talk on Twitter Monday, August  29, 2011 at 4:00 PM Pacific Time, which will be Tuesday, August 30 at 10:00 AM Australian Time.

"I’m honored and thrilled to be on the Global Product Management Talk again. Recently, Greg White and I had a great time talking about Product Camp SoCal. I’m looking forward to hearing what fellow product professionals think we can learn from brand management. Is it really an older wiser sibling or an evil twin that will distract us from our core mission?,” asks McCoy.

The Global Product Management Talk was conceived by Cindy F. Solomon, a San Francisco Bay Area certified product manager and embraced by Adrienne Tan, founder of brainmates, an Australian product management company, to bring international product managers together with experts in the field.

The Global Product Management Talk on Twitter, since its inception in February 2011, has had a clear focus on addressing the needs of international hi-tech professionals within product management, product marketing and related professional domains. It is the largest Twitter Chat with this focus in the world, recently generating 275,302 impressions, reaching an audience of 15,769 followers with re-tweets occurring for days and weeks following the hour event.

Weekly, Solomon produces the Socratic discussion on Twitter, curating guest speakers, and inviting participation via social media. The speaker and co-hosts discuss Twitter comments which are broadcast live over BlogTalkRadio, while active participation is taking place digitally within the Twitter stream. Following the event, both the written transcript of tweets and the recording of the audio discussion are available for viewing & listening.  Participants are encouraged to expand upon their statements and insights by blogging to continue the conversation.  All of the content from the event is packaged into an eBook to further extend the value and reach of the subject matter.
