Aug. 27, 2011 - PRLog -- Globaltouch (West Africa) Limited,  the first Nigerian company licensed by the Nigerian Communications Commission to offer Global Mobile Personal Communications by Satellite, is poised to offer advanced satellite-based telecommunications services in the Nigerian telecom market.
The company’s mission is to evade incessant telecommunications barriers through the use of special satellite data, voice and tracking devices. Lack of telecommunication network will no longer be an issue due to the operation of a constellation of 48 Low Earth Orbit Satellites, recently installed by Globaltouch, which offer Global Mobile Personal Communications by Satellite, SPOT, Globaltrakker, simplex and duplex data modems and flexible service packages, intended to cut across a wide stratum of subscribers in Nigeria and West Africa.
Services of Globaltouch will add value to organizations that send out workers to remote areas where there are little or no telecommunications services today. The company’s SPOT tracker will among other things, provide oil and gas companies with an affordable and effective solution to monitor the GPS location and safety of thousands of lone or remote workers in the field.
SPOT tracks GPS locations at every 10 minutes for 24 hours with the availability of customized messaging system. This tool can be used to monitor assets such as pipelines and oil wells and crews on those remote locations, thereby minimizing the incidents of vandalism and theft on those locations. The product has also been shown to be very effective during search and rescue operations.
These products will enable people in Nigeria and throughout West Africa to connect and communicate on a more reliable low-earth satellite platform. These wide ranges of products benefit corporate, personal asset managers, marine companies, aircraft, and automobile owners. Its simplex modems deliver reliable digital data communications for aircraft owners, fleet operators and other agencies. The entrance of Globaltouch into the communication sector is targeted at boosting the fortunes of the sector and avoiding the hitches encountered by GSM service providers through the use of base stations in the country.
Companies in West Africa can aim for more efficiency with the effective use of Globaltouch’s data communications products. This is paramount for companies that need to monitor remote locations without sending out crews to the field.
The company’s foremost product; Globaltrakker collects and delivers telemetry data from remote location with or without mapping. Users can view and manage assets online through the secure, feature-rich, and simple to configure web-based application. Globaltrakker is meant for staying in touch through alerts-driven functionalities delivered by e-mail or Short Message Systems, where available.
At the present time, Globaltouch has a solid technical partnership with Globalstar, a company located in USA, which has its services available today in over 120 different countries. Globaltouch Satellite Gateway, located in Kaduna, provides coverage to much of West Africa as well as areas in Central Africa.
Notable as well is the fact that products introduced by Globaltouch satisfy the yearnings of customers who want the choice of a smaller, lighter device with long battery life. The management of Globaltouch West Africa has emphasized its unflinching commitment to improve performance and increase workplace safety.
