Minister of Music appointed at Bethel Congregational Church in Ontario, CA

Aug. 26, 2011 - PRLog -- Music is returning to Bethel Congregational Church!

Dr. Sylvia Lee Mann has accepted the challenging and exciting task of building the Music Ministry at Bethel Congregational Church in Ontario, CA.. Sandy L Gunn will be serving as the Associate Minister of Music.

Dr. Mann is the Music Director & Conductor of the West Covina and Southland Symphony Orchestras, serves on the faculty at California Sate University, Dominguez Hills, and is the former Director of Music at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Studio City.

The new program at Bethel begins iimmediately, with choir rehearsals every Wednesday at 7pm in the main sanctuary. Adaditional plans include a youth choir and handbell choir, as well as a concert series including full symphony orchestra and chamber music concerts.

It remains a landmark at the corner of Euclid and F Street. We may look imposing and traditional from the outside, but inside you will find a welcoming congregation who is quite liberal in our theology.

Dominating the south wall of our sanctuary is a 1930 Pilcher pipe organ that is still used on most Sundays. More recently, we have added a modern sound and projection system that is used in worship and for movie night every other Friday.
