Snell & Wilmer Attorney Elected to Indian Walk-in Center Board of Directors

Aug. 26, 2011 - PRLog -- SALT LAKE CITY – Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce that Douglas P. Farr, an associate in the firm’s Salt Lake City office, has been elected to serve on the board of directors for the Indian Walk-in Center (IWIC).

The IWIC is a cultural, medical and behavioral health home for American Indians and Alaska Natives in Utah. The IWIC serves as a gathering place where people can participate in familiar Native American community activities, such as Pow Wows, providing a comfort zone for those who are far away from home. Some of the people may need help finding work or need the basic staples of life to assist them until they get on their feet. They can turn to the IWIC for assistance with health care, mental health care, youth services, food and other needs. The IWIC provides services that identify critical health risks and educate their clients concerning preventive care, encouraging better overall health, well-being and enjoyment of life within the Native American community.

Farr's practice is concentrated in bankruptcy, with an emphasis in creditor rights, business reorganization and general commercial litigation. Farr earned his J.D. from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University and his B.A. in Anthropology from Brigham Young University.
