Thousands of active and dependent seniors fall victims to Medicare fraud every year. According to The National Health Care Anti-Fraud Association, Florida's $16 billion Medicaid program loses $2 billion dollars a year to fraud and abuse. This fraud and abuse is committed by caregivers, con-artist and bogus physicians. The Justice Department has led some of the biggest takedown of Medicare fraud offenders in Miami, Florida. The Florida Senior Medicare Patrol recruit, train and deploy its volunteers to senior centers, retirement communities and elsewhere to encourage Medicare beneficiaries to guard their personal information, beware of too-good-to- Florida Senior Medicare Patrol representative, Leonard Scarpati, sought Trinity Health Care Services, Inc. as their Broward County partner to educate their patients, partners, affiliates and employees about the importance of informing the public about healthcare fraud and abuse.
