PRLog (Press Release) - Aug. 25, 2011 - Safety expert Phil La Duke will be speaking at the National Safety Council at 1:30pm on October 31st, 2011, in Philadelphia, PA. The speech, titled Understanding Why People Don't Report Near Misses is loosely based on his article Four Reasons, Eight Lessons
Reluctance to Report May Not Be Caused By Fear (http://www.fsmmag.com/Articles/2011/04/Four%20Reasons.htm.) from the April 2011 issue of Facility Safety Management magazine, where La Duke is a editorial adviser.

The Halloween engagement, in Philadelphia, PA, will be the fourth time La Duke has spoken at the National Safety Council’s Annual Conference. La Duke’s previous include Safety As A Competitive Advantage (http://www.slideshare.net/ladukepcq/safety-as-a-competitv...). which he made at the NSC conference in Anaheim, CA.  La Duke co-presented with retired head of Chrysler’s OSH group, Darrell James, and then UAW Local 3250 president, George Drexel. Based in part on this presentation Safety +Health magazine interviewed La Duke as an expert in the Auto and Transportation industries for the monthly’s Industry Spotlight column.  In 2009 La Duke returned to the podium to present two talks: You Get What You Measure (http://www.slideshare.net/ladukepcq/you-get-what-you-meas.... ) and Selling Safety in Tough Times http://www.slideshare.net/ladukepcq/selling-safety-in-tough-times-2211526. Media coverage of Selling Safety in Tough Times the Orlando, FL, speech was extensive and the resultant international excitement cumulated in La Duke’s reprisal of the presentation at the March 2010, International Symposium on Mining Safety in Lima, Peru (http://www.slideshare.net/ladukepcq/usersphilladukedocumentsselling-safety-in-tough-times-peru.)

“I love speaking at the National Safety Council’s Annual Conferences” says La Duke, “I am honored to be selected to present; competition for these engagements are quite fierce. I speak at a wide variety of events, and The National Safety Council consistently puts on a terrific show where some of the best minds in safety—not just worker safety but the entire spectrum of safety—from around the globe gather to discuss leading edge practices.  To be included in this group is truly a great honored.”
