Aug. 25, 2011 - PRLog -- CHICAGO--Call it Chicago's eco-friendly art festival.

The inaugural Ravenswood Remix, to be held on the Saturday and Sunday (September 3-4) over Labor Day Weekend, will showcase an eclectic mix of unique art made from, among other things, recycled and found materials.

This new event's location is on the eponymous stretch of Ravenswood Avenue between Belle Plaine (4100 N) and Berteau Avenues (4200 N). Hours are Noon-10:00 p.m. both days. The gate donation (benefiting the neighborhood's Hamilton School art program) is $5.

In addition to the wares of nearly 100 artists, Ravenswood Remix also will feature a music stage, food vendors and free educational happenings. Faux finishing by Moran Studios, mosaics and organic composting workshops are among the offerings.

Among the eclectic music performers are Brain Vander Ark from the Verve Pipe,  Chicago indie rockers Sybris, and local psychedelic rockers Apteka.
