Aug. 24, 2011 - PRLog -- The CenturyLink Center in Bossier City roars to life with tantalizing tigers, enchanting elephants, and dramatic daredevils as the legendary Shrine Circus rolls into Shreveport/Bossier City for one thrilling weekend.  Passionate performers from 15 countries will dazzle circus fans with new, amazing feats in the biggest and best Shrine Circus ever.

The Shrine Circus is the only interactive circus in the world! This year’s show includes the opportunity of a lifetime, as audience members are welcomed into the circus rings before, during intermission, and after the circus to meet the stars, ride ponies and elephants, and take photographs.  The El Karubah Shrine is throwing a Pre-Party for all who wish to hobnob with local celebrities, or for those who just love to clown around!

This year marks the 50th anniversary of George Carden, in the circus.  Carden, a circus legend, has partnered with the Shriners for five decades to raise money for worthy causes.  Each year, Carden scours the globe to bring spectacular international talent to his Shrine Circus shows.  “I’ve watched generations of kids in Shreveport and Bossier City grow up at the circus,” says Carden.  Michelle Audrey, is delighted to act as emcee on behalf of the El Karubah Shrine, “This is a show that is all about family fun and creating memories.” Prepare to cover your eyes!  The Human Cannonball is back!   Bo the Elephant performs amazing tricks with his bevy of pachyderm babes under the celebrated direction of trainer Larry Carden.  Weighing in at almost 6 tons, Bo is a big star!  The Georgettes are a talented troupe of showgirls who weave dance and music into artistry.  Literally, these beauties wrapped only in aerial silks will soar to the very top of the CenturyTel Center.   Never wanting to leave the best for last, the Shrine Circus opens with an adrenaline pumping tiger act from Bruno Blaszac’s Bengal Tigers.  How do you make 8 tigers dance and jump through a fiery ring?  “Very carefully,” explains Bruno.  We’ve added all new performances from across the globe…many have never been seen in North America before. Innovative acrobats, delightful daredevils, and, as always, those loveable Shrine clowns will be part of the El Karubah Shrine show.

The El Karubah Shrine Circus is the hottest ticket in town!  The Shriners are pleased to offer affordable family entertainment, and “BOGO” coupons are available at www.2011circus.com .  Tickets are $12/child (12 and under), $20/adult, and $27 /VIP floor seating.  Facility fees apply.   Show time on Friday (9/23) is 7:30 PM.  On Saturday (9/24) performances are at 11:00 AM, 3:00 and 7:30 PM.  And, on Sunday (9/25) the circus starts at 2:00 and 6:00 PM.
