Read&Write GOLD software eases workload for individual with dyslexia

Aug. 24, 2011 - PRLog -- Tracy Roberts, Assistant Branch Secretary at Wigan Councils’ Unison Branch, is an avid fan of Texthelp’s assistive software - Read&Write GOLD.

Tracy was previously employed as a support worker with Wigan Council and explains: “My role mainly consisted of manual duties, with a manageable amount of familiar paper work that I had twenty years’ experience and knowledge of completing.  Read&Write GOLD has helped me cope on a daily basis with the essential parts of my new role and the duties that now consist mainly of written work and lots of reading.  The software has really eased my workload.

Tracy continues “I am currently seconded to the full time position of Assistant Branch Secretary at Wigan Councils’ Unison Branch, having been voted in by members after four years of being a workplace representative and a Unison learner representative.  I had previously volunteered for the Wigan Citizen’s Advice Bureau but was deterred as I felt I wasn’t able to complete the paper work to the same standard and speed as other staff, which made me more stressed.  The paper work would not have been an issue had I discovered Read&Write GOLD software sooner!  

I can now download documents and have them read to me just before I go to my next meeting through the software’s text-to-speech functionality.

The spell checker feature is also great as it ensures I don't make silly errors by using incorrect words when emailing.  

I will shortly receive full training on Read&Write GOLD to ensure I make the best use of all the features in the software.  When this is complete, there will be no stopping me!  Thank you Texthelp and Read&Write GOLD.”
