What happens when young people become the drummers? POWERFUL THINGS!
SALT LAKE CITY, UT (August 24, 2011) – Highland High School RAMS will kick off the new school year using the phenomenal power of music to change, move, transform and unlock during an interactive drumming session called, Unlock the Rhythm TM. Highland High School students and faculty will gather together Wednesday, August 24, at 1:30pm in the school auditorium, 2166 South 1700 East, Salt Lake City, Utah 84106.
Each of the 1,600 students, ranging from ninth to 12th grade, will be equipped with a pair of Rhythm Sticks. “This hands-on experience offers students the opportunity to experience diversity through rhythm awakening the primal sense of play and our capacity to tap into those parts of our brain and body that carry us to higher places of awareness and empowerment”

The Unlock the Rhythm TM group-drumming helps sharpen listening skills and enables each participant to experience how his or her contribution affects the quality of the outcome. “Music has the power to move, change and transform lives.
