IJIS Institute Elects New Board of Directors

IT industry leaders will shape direction for the Institute and its programs

Aug. 23, 2011 - PRLog -- Ashburn, Va., August 23, 2011. The IJIS Institute, a nonprofit organization that focuses on mission-critical information sharing for justice, public safety, and homeland security, announces results of its election for the Institute’s Board of Directors and officers.

The IJIS Institute’s members, composed of nearly 200 information technology industry representatives, have elected five new members of the Board of Directors and have re-elected six incumbents. The new members elected are: Fiona Barshow, Vice President, Business Development, Citizant; George E. Cruser, Jr., Vice President and Federal Industry Leader: Departments of Homeland, Justice and State, IBM ; Matthew D’Alessandro, Senior Business Development Manager, Motorola Solutions Integrated Command and Control division ; Michael Davis, founder and CEO of Appriss; and, Michael Dillon, Director, Business Development, Homeland Security and Law Enforcement, BAE Systems Inc., Intelligence & Security Sector (LSE: BA.L).

The new directors, all of whom have substantial experience in the information technology field as applied to justice, public safety, and homeland security, will serve three-year terms on the Board of Directors.

Other members continuing their terms on the Board are: Betty Kelepecz, President, Public Safety Consulting, Inc.; Ken Bouche, Senior Vice President, Hillard Heintze; Frank Felice, Co-owner / VP of Sales & Marketing, New Dawn Technologies; Mary Ellen Condon, Director, Customer Value Partners; James Paat, CEO, Sypherlink; and, Dave Usery, URL Integration.

At its first meeting, the Board elected Matt D'Alessandro, as the new President of the Board. Mary Ellen Condon, was elected as Vice President; George E. Cruser, Jr. was elected as Treasurer; and, Dave Usery was elected as the new Secretary of the corporation. The four officers and an at-large member, James Paat, serve on the Executive Committee of the Board. The Board of Directors and the Institute’s five-member Executive Committee are responsible for the general policies and interests of the Institute.

Matt DeZee, CISCO; Alan Heath, IBM; Mike Lyons, VisionAIR; Morgan Wright, Alcatel Lucent; and, Sudhi Umarji, Trusted Federal Systems, completed their terms as Board members and were recognized by the Board for their service.
