ClerkHotel.com is a bilingual (English and Spanish until now) online service where any hotel, regardless the size, can open an account to manage their establishment by monitoring reservations, configuring rooms and assigning catering services to their passengers.

The decision of entering to this business sector has to do with its great potential: businesses over than U$ 25 billion are expected through e-commerce for the region of Latin America and the Caribbean in 2010, according to a study by Visa [1]
Also, only in Chile, business in the tourist industry is expected to be around U$ 2,000 million this next year, with over than 3 million new tourists. [2] .
This dynamism of the tourist industry is added to the experience of its developers, who also own a hotel in the city of Viña del Mar. "We have applied our own expertise in the design of the application, which responds to everything we needed", says Jorge Barahona from AyerViernes.com, builders of ClerkHotel.com.
Regarding the business model of the application, ClerkHotel.com offers full-festured free access to a limited number of reservations per month, over this limit, users must subscribe to a paid plan which also operates on a monthly basis, depending on the ammount of transactions. According to Barahona, during the first year, at least 1.000 hotels are expected to subscribe to the service, whereas during the first month of operation, and only advertised via social networks, the service reached 600 hotels in 40 different countries, from Ghana to Chile.
