APS to Host an Exhibit at BETA Obstetrics Safety Symposium

APS to host exhibit showcasing their perinatal curriculum at 2011 BETA OB Safety Symposium.

Aug. 24, 2011 - PRLog -- Advanced Practice Strategies (APS), a leading provider of education solutions for perinatal safety, today announced they will host an exhibit at BETA Healthcare Group’s Obstetrics Safety Symposium, “Lead the Way: The Path to Perinatal Excellence.” The symposium, held in San Francisco this September, is an annual gathering of BETA’s 36 hospital facilities with perinatal services that are dedicated to learning more about the latest advancements, practices, and education offerings in their field.

APS will showcase their extensive eLearning course offerings, including their Perinatal Safety Curriculum, consisting of courses in Advanced Fetal Assessment and Monitoring, Managing Shoulder Dystocia, Operative Vaginal Delivery, and Postpartum Hemorrhage, as well as a monthly Competency Maintenance series designed to reinforce clinicians’ understanding of key concepts from the core training. This innovative curriculum, consistent with the national standards for perinatal care proposed by the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), focuses on clinically rich, interactive, team-oriented training and addresses many of the main drivers of obstetrical claims and adverse outcomes. Additional APS courseware includes topics in surgical safety, patient safety, internal medicine, and core risk content.

APS has partnered with BETA to deliver BETA hospitals with APS OB-intensive patient safety education to yield improved patient safety and reduced liability costs.

“APS is excited to be attending BETA’s OB Safety Symposium,” stated John Harrington, APS Founder and Chief Mission Officer. Mr. Harrington will be present at the APS exhibit to field questions from attendees. “Our goal is to demonstrate how we can empower BETA hospitals to reduce obstetrical risk and claims through our proactive curriculum that enables their clinicians to deliver the highest quality and safest care possible.
