Fourth Annual New Era National Youth Baseball Championships Set for August 25 – 28 in Memphis

Aug. 22, 2011 - PRLog -- Memphis – Sixteen teams from across the country will meet in Memphis August 25-28, to determine who are “The Best of the Best” when the New Era National Youth Baseball Championships (NYBC)  return to Gameday Baseball’s First Tennessee Fields.  The tournament is sponsored by the Major Youth Baseball Alliance, LLC (MYBA), comprised of eight sports sanctioning organizations and representatives from Major League Baseball.

The New Era National Youth Baseball Championships will feature the season’s top 10-and-under and 12-and-under teams from all eight MYBA organizations: American Amateur Baseball Congress (AABC), Amateur Athletic Union of the United States (AAU), Babe Ruth Baseball, Dixie Youth Baseball, National Amateur Baseball Federation (NABF), PONY Baseball, Super Series Baseball of America, and United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA).  The MYBA has a combined total of over 8 million participants.

“It’s all about the kids,” according to Eddie Einhorn, Vice Chairman of the Chicago White Sox and the driving force behind the organization of the MYBA and the launch of the NYBC.  “In the past these organizations each had their individual champions, but now these organizations’ champions compete to determine true national champions in each age group,” Einhorn explained.

For daily game schedules, visit YouthMajors.com. New Era  NYBC tournament passes are $12 each, and daily admission is $5 per adult, $2 for children ages 6 and under and seniors ages 65 and over.  Sunday is New Era Cap Day and everyone wearing a New Era Cap will receive free admission.

About First Tennessee Fields  

First Tennessee Fields feature manicured playing surfaces for ages 6 through college level. The complex features 10 lighted fields, a playground area, unequalled amenities for spectators, a main clubhouse, the Sports Cafe, and several concessions locations. Church, recreational, Minor(AA), American(AAA), National(Major) level teams, as well as middle schools, high schools, and NCAA Division I and II and NAIAI baseball and softball teams play on the fields. It is Southwest Tennessee Community College’s home field.
