In addition to the main event there will also be a two and a half mile fun run and children’s races (approximately 80m) which take place at Overton Recreation Centre, Bridge Street with all finishers receiving a medal. The main race starts at 3pm, entries are still available by downloading the entry form online at http://www.overtonharriers.org.uk or there may be limited entries on the day.
HugoFox.com Founder Michael Thompson said:
“We are delighted to be lending our support to the race again. Overton Harriers & Athletics Club did a great job of getting people involved last year and with the incorporation of the Hampshire Five Mile Championships, it’s set to be even more of a special occasion.”
Places are filling up fast, with 327 runners already signed up for the main event which will start from Overton Recreation Centre. In addition to the day’s races, there will also be a prize presentation at 4:45pm.
Race Director and Overton Harrier Helen McMahon added:
“This is very much a local community event and many people line the streets of Overton to cheer on the runners and enjoy the afternoon. Part of the money we raise from the event is given to local charities, and we’re really grateful for the support given to us from HugoFox.com.”
The route of the main Road Race is two undulating laps around the village, so drivers are advised that there will be some traffic disruptions on the B3400 between the traffic lights in Overton to Southington as the runners make their way around the course between 3pm and 4pm.
